Prepping for Election Day – Chicago KRCC

On September 6, the Korean American Resource and Cultural Center (KRCC) of Chicago, an affiliate of NAKASEC, had a press conference regarding the ‘Guide to 2002 Illinois General Election”.5,000 free copies of the election guides are available and it will be widely distributed in the Chicago vicinity.

The election guides are sponsored by NAKASEC with the special sponsorship by the Korea Times of Chicago.The guides are 24 pages in length, and contain general information about the election such as the election date, time, voter registration deadline, the way to register to vote, listings of candidates, explanations about the candidates’ main positions, punch card voting, absentee voting, political parties of Illinois, and so forth.
KRCC also started the voter registration campaign.Every weekend (Sat./Sun.) from 4 to 6 PM, KRCC volunteers (Deputy Registrars) will be at the two Korean groceries for voter registration.This campaign will last until Oct. 8th.
