By March 28, 2006No Comments

On December 2, 2003, KRC along with the Southern California’s health and civil rights advocates, co-sponsored a press conference to voice outrage and dismay over Governor Schwarzenegger’s proposed budget cuts.Should the governor’s proposals pass, many health and human services for children, disabled, and immigrant seniors will be put on a freeze or be eliminated. For instance, the Govenor’s proposal would put a cap on enrollments of the Health Families Program, which has been providing health coverage to 600,000 children since 1998.Many health advocates estimate that more than 100,000 children would be placed on a waiting list for their health coverage within a year.
