VIRGINIA
Since 2017, we have educated, organized and mobilized Asian Americans to be leaders. Together with multi-ethnic, multi-racial coalitions, we have won driver’s privileges for all, in-state tuition for all, and college scholarships for all. These successes have strengthened and empowered our state by making transportation and education more accessible for every Virginian. We also played a critical role in ensuring our state public schools upheld Standards of Learning (SOLs) that include the rich diversity of all Virginians’ histories.
Hamkae Power also coordinates robust civic engagement programs that reach over 50,000 Asian American voters annually, with linguistic and cultural competency in the Korean, Indian, Pakistani, and Vietnamese communities.
