Reproductive Freedom Amendment

Virginia is currently the last state in the South that does not have extreme restrictions on reproductive rights after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade.

This midterm election, Virginians will have the opportunity to vote to protect reproductive freedom in the state of Virginia. This amendment protects the right for Virginians to make their own reproductive health decisions without government interference.

We know that reproductive health covers a wide range of issues, and this amendment will protect Virginians by protecting:

✅Prenatal care

✅Childbirth

✅Postpartum care

✅Breastfeeding support

✅Birth control

✅Abortion access

✅Miscarriage management

✅Fertility care

The ballot question will read:

Question: Should the Constitution of Virginia be amended to (i) protect the freedom to make personal decisions about prenatal care, childbirth, postpartum care, birth control, abortion, miscarriage management, and fertility care; (ii) protect doctors, nurses, and patients from being punished for these decisions; and (iii) allow for restrictions on access to abortion during the third trimester of pregnancy except when the patient’s health is at risk or the pregnancy cannot survive?

We say: Vote YES
