NEW JERSEY

NEW JERSEY

NAKASEC Action Fund New Jersey was established in 2025. In New Jersey, 10% of residents (about 1 million people) are Asian, and 25% (about 2.4 million people) are immigrants. In Bergen County, 18% of the population (about 160,000 people) are Asian and 33% (about 300,000 people) are immigrants. However, Asian and immigrant communities have not yet secured political power that reflects their share of the population.
NAKASEC Action Fund NJ works to expand the political power of Asian and immigrant communities by supporting and developing leaders who truly represent the interests of these communities. The organization increases voter participation among Asian and immigrant voters, supports candidates who share these values, and works to advance fair and just development for our communities.

A note about mail-in ballots:
  • Postmarks matter. As long as your ballot is postmarked by 8:00 p.m. on Election Day, it is valid.
  • The County Board of Elections can actually receive that postmarked ballot up to 6 days after the election (April 22 for the Special; June 8 for the Primary) and it will still be counted.
  • If a ballot has no postmark, the Board of Elections must receive it by mail within 48 hours of the polls closing to consider it valid.
